Sixty students got an in-depth look at the OSCE’s comprehensive work on organized crime during a visit to the OSCE in Vienna, Austria on 10 June. Analysts from Moldova’s General Inspectorate of Border Police, General Police Inspectorate and Customs Service enhanced their capabilities with i2 Analyst’s Notebook software at a specialized training course organized by the OSCE’s Transnational Threats Department, in co-operation with the Permanent Mission of Romania to the OSCE, from 2 to 6 June in Chisinau, Moldova.

Eleven journalists from different media outlets participated in a training aiming to enhance the quality of reporting on incidents related to small arms and light weapons (SALW), with a specific focus on gender-based violence, on 3 June 2025. The interactive training was organized by the OSCE Presence as part of its support to Albanian authorities’ efforts to strengthen public awareness about the risks and misuse of SALW.

The OSCE Transnational Threats Department, in co-operation with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, held a workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 29 and 30 May to support the country in developing a national competency framework and training strategy on cybercrime and electronic evidence.

Partnerships, crime reduction, and accountability and trust in law enforcement were some of topics in focus at a side event on “Building Police-Public Partnerships: Community-Oriented Policing and Community Engagement” organized by the OSCE Transnational Threats Department and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Section in Vienna, Austria, on 23 May

The OSCE has reaffirmed its commitment towards strengthening cybersecurity measures in Tajikistan through two specialized practical training courses conducted at its Programme Office in Dushanbe from 12 to 16 May and from 19 to 22 May 2025. Thirty-two law enforcement officials (31 men and one woman) from the Ministry of Internal Affairs participated in two intensive five and four-day courses focused on enhancing their capabilities in usage of open-source cybercrime intelligence and modern investigation techniques.

On 15 May 2025, experts in policing and minority rights gathered in The Hague, the Netherlands for a roundtable discussion on how emerging technologies are shaping policing practices in multi-ethnic societies. The event was jointly organized by the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities
