A two-day high-level forum opened today in Dushanbe to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child. The event brought together young leaders, government officials, representatives of the United Nations, development partners, and civil society organisations from across Tajikistan to advance a shared vision for girls’ empowerment and leadership.

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, in close partnership with the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, supported the organization and delivery of a high-level briefing to present the new National Strategy on Countering Terrorism and Extremism for 2026–2041 and its accompanying Action Plan through 2030.

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe convened and chaired the concluding meeting of the Working Group on Macro, Private and Financial Sectors Development and Regional Trade Facilitation under the Development Co-ordination Council.

With the support of the European Union, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe concluded a Strengthening Medical Capabilities course for 29 officers (15 women and 14 men) of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) convened its annual Partnership Platform meeting on 2 October 2025, bringing together around 80 participants, including representatives of the Government of Tajikistan and OSCE staff across all three dimensions of security.

On 22 September 2025, an intensive three-week Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Level 1 training kicked off at the Regional Explosive Hazards Training Centre (REHTC) of Tajikistan’s Ministry of Defense.

The four-week training, held from 25 August to 19 September 2025 at the Border Troops Detachment in Khorog region, is part of the third phase of the EU-funded project “Stabilization of Tajikistan’s Southern Border Region with Afghanistan."
