VIENNA, 5 May 2026 – OSCE Secretary General Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu participated in the Eighth European Political Community (EPC) Summit, hosted in Yerevan, Armenia, on 4 May 2026.

On the margins of the summit, the Secretary General met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. They discussed ongoing progress towards normalization of relations in the region and the finalization of the Peace Agreement with Azerbaijan.

Speaking at one of the Summit roundtables, Secretary General Sinirlioğlu emphasized that trade facilitation, transport links, and digital co-operation between states are essential building blocks to ensure security and stability.

“In an era of geopolitical volatility and growing fragmentation, connectivity is a powerful tool for security building. It is not only about trade and infrastructure, but about co-operation, and about fostering trust and resilience - the foundations for lasting peace and prosperity,” said the Secretary General. “If we choose co-operation over fragmentation, connectivity can become a bridge to a more secure and sustainable future.”

The Secretary General held a meeting with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, and also met with other Heads of State and Government from across the European region that the EPC Summit in Yerevan brought together.
